Color Splash Effect

I altered this image by following guidelines from a tutorial on youtube called "Color Splash Effect". The effect made the boat pop out to the viewer. I used layer masks to achieve this effect. By having the rest of the image black and white, the color of the boat really stands out to me, and I think effects like this could make for a good advertisement for the company. If I did this project again I think I would choose a boat with more colorful sides and designs.

Kaleidoscope

This was the kaleidoscope project that I made. I took an image of a wakeboard boat and followed the steps on the kaleidoscope video on youtube. I think the final product came out well and the water and the boat add a cool effect to the kaleidoscope image. If I did the project again I think I would choose an image with more diverse colors so that the final product would look brighter and more colorful.

Book Cover Project

This is my second book cover project. This cover is of a book I've read called Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe. I tried to make the cover represent a clashing of two societies, the Africans and the Europeans, because that is a major storyline in the book. I think the cover turned out well and it accurately represents what the book is about.

Book Cover Design

This is the final version of my first book cover. The book I chose was The Litigators by John Grisham. The book centered around a theme of law, so I tried to incorporate those characteristics into my book design. I like the outcome because it represents what the book is about without giving the whole story away.

Photo Editing Website Photofunia.com

This is the picture I created on Photofunia.com. The picture is a picture from the movie Pirates of the Caribbean with my face edited where the character's face was. Photofunia was my favorite website because it was easy to use and it had many different options for pictures. There were many different settings and ideas offered on the site, and all you had to do was upload your own photo and it would edit it into the background/setting you chose. This website creates images that are similar in quality to images edited in CS5, but it does all the work of editing for you. This website is very easy to use, so its target audience would probably be people who aren't very familiar with photo editing software. I would add it as a link on the webpage because it's an easy-to-use site and it produces good quality images.

Dr. Seuss Collage

This is my Dr. Seuss picture project. For this project I combined many pictures of different Dr. Seuss book covers to make a collage of some of his most famous works. I think that they best represent him as an author. While creating the collage, I combined the pictures of the book covers by merging all the layers together. Then I adjusted the lightness of the image by using the hue/saturation image adjustment. I think the project turned out well because it represents the personality of Dr. Seuss well. If I could change anything the next time I did the project, I might try adding a different effect to the text.

Life Magazine Cover

This is the picture I chose as the best Life Magazine cover. I think this image is special because it represents an activity, skateboarding, that has been done by many Americans. It is an image that shows a sport that has stayed popular in America for almost half a century now. Since the image captures the beginning of a sport that has been popular in America for almost 50 years now, I think it's a great picture.
